Located on forty acres, we grow our own vegetables have farm animals. The name of the property comes from the five acre Goji berry trees. Taos is 11 miles away.

The space

The D.H. Lawrence Cabin is located atTaos Goji Eco Lodge and Farm Retreat. Our cabins are nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and surrounded by national forest. Our charming & quaint, historic log cabins and casitas are in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River (ca: 20 miles).

Part of an eco lodge, this cabin sits on 40 acres among seasonal creeks, ponds, aspens and cottonwood trees, organic berry orchards and great views of the mountains.

The cabin is a studio and can sleep two people in a queen bed.

We do have a small farm cafe, generally opening on Memorial Day and closing on Labor Day. We also serve pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, yoghurt, berries and fritata for a suggested donation. We also offer a farm breakfast at 8am and a farm lunch at 1:30 am Monday to Friday with out wwoofers (willing workers on organic farms) for an extra fee. Please give us 24 hours notice.

A seasonal vegetable garden and chickens provide produce and fresh ranch eggs to renters. A play ground is available for families with children. Nearby are opportunities for hiking, fishing, lama trekking, horseback trails. hot air ballooning, and natural hot springs are within driving distance.

San Cristobal is a small village and our eco lodge was built at the turn of last century. Aldous Huxley lived and wrote in our cabins and we found water colors from D.H. Lawrence and letters to the publishers from Frieda Lawrence in the attic of one of the cabins.

We are surrounded by national forest and a small river flows from the mountains and into part of the village.

Taos is only 11 miles away and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River only about 30 minutes away. Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders’ roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nation’s best. It also has an excellent children’s day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.

Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;

There are many ways to explore art in Taos. Taos is an old art colony since 1899. Some of the artists’ studios have been preserved and may be viewed by visitors. Many of the historic sites are homes and studios of artists, including the Mabel Dodge Luhan House,Eanger Irving Couse House and Studio, Joseph Henry Sharp Studios, the Leon Gaspard House, the Couse/Sharp Historic Site and the Ernest Martin Hennings House. On Ledoux Street, just south of the Taos Plaza, are the Ernest L. Blumenschein House and Harwood House.

There are three Art Museums in Taos: Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Art Museum and Millicent Rogers Museum that provide art from the pueblo Native Americans, Taos Society of Artists and modern and contemporary artists of the Taos art colony. The town has numerous art galleries and there are several houses of the Taos Society of Artists.

4.8 "Nice place"

Quaint little efficiency style room. My fiancé spent 30 minutes trying to get a fire going but could not and this man lives to build fires. A TV is listed in the amenities but there was not one. There was also no microwave.

Great rustic little place, I would say the only downfall was being right on the road. We would definitely stay again, the views in the back of the cabins are awesome and we very much enjoyed the simplicity of the whole place!

5.0 "Secluded and beautiful property"

Everything about our short stay here was unforgettable. We felt as though we were staying with family. It's a beautiful property with free range chickens of all breeds, friendly alpacas, goats (baby goats!) and cats! There's no shortage of hammocks to lounge in. We enjoyed the wood burning stove in our D.H. Lawrence cabin and sitting in the hot tub under the stars. It's quiet, secluded and a perfect gettaway. Our only regret is that we didn't spend more time there.

5.0 "Perfect place and friendly staffs"

The D.H. Lawerence Cabin was perfect for our last-minute stay! We came seeking shelter from a camping trip cut short and received so much more! The room was a perfect size for 2 and the bed was so soft and comfortable. The highlight was the wood-burning soaking/hot tub. Getting in that baby and watching the stars was amazing! The farm staff we met were very friendly and in the morning we walked around and met the chickens and turkeys. Wish we could've stayed longer to meet the other animals but would love to come back next time we're in town. Definitely get there during daylight hours so you can easily navigate and enjoy the beauty of the farm. It's really a hidden gem so close to Taos and Red River.

5.0 "Nice location in Taos"

Cabin was very cozy and bed was great. We were super relaxed and definitely checked out the trails nearby with our pup and the property was beautiful. All guests and staff were super friendly! It is a working farm and many of the spaces are communal, so recommend other travelers book with that expectation. We enjoyed our stay and the location to the outdoors and Taos

5.0 "This place is a slice in heaven"

This is a slice of heaven. It's like staying on a homestead farm, and a piece of history, as the buildings have been there a long time, and maintain the rustic mountain spirit. The farm staff were so welcoming. I got to try my first turkey egg from their coop! The grounds are charming and earthy. The structures are full of history. It feels cool to be in a place that transports you to what it must have been like in the 1920s. Except, now with wifi and a hot tub, of course! I haven't had quiet like there is out in San Cristobal in a long time.

3.6 "Place needs improvement"

Megan the manager was very accommodating and efficient. Unfortunately cleanliness of the cabin, very dirty upon our arrival. I had to sweep the floors and dust, toilet was smelly. I did contact Megan, she had the cleaners come in the following day to clean toilet, mop floors which was very appreciated. The hot tub was not clean to use as well as sink outside Needed cleaning. The photos on AirBNB do not reflect the accuracy of the Eco Lodge. We appreciated Megan’s assistance very much. It is a quiet area but need some sprucing up interior and landscape. Thank you

5.0 "Fantastic place"

Amazing stay for three days in Taos area. We were so glad we stayed outside town at the farm. The animals, hosts, and other guests were so warm and wonderful. The views from property were insane. Especially at sunset. The grounds were fantastic. We used the hot tub and spent hours on the porch in rocking chairs looking out at the views. The farm animals were also great. The farmhands were super friendly and loved playing with our dog. The cabin is super charming and cozy. Just as pictures. It’s small but was perfect for our three night stay. We may have opted for a larger one had we stayed more nights. The farm was truly memorable and perfect for our trip. Even the rides into Taos were incredible with 360 degree views in all directions. We hope to stay again soon and will definitely recommend to friends.

5.0 "Lovely Goji Farm"

We absolutely loved our stay at the goji farm / retreat. It is an amazing place and truly feel restored after just a few days there. I had my dog with me and it was super comfortable for her as well. Morning walks around the farm were so special! No shortage of places to sit, enjoy, take in the sunrise, the moonset, you name it! The animals are just as sweet and wonderufl as they look in the photos, and the soaking tub / sauna added to an even better night's sleep in the comfy bed. Looking forward to going back, and hope you enjoy as much as we did!!!
